Arthur's Seat

Arthur was a pretty fit guy to climb the steep path to the top of this 250m hill just to the east of Edinburgh city centre, and he probably needed a seat when he got to the top.

From what I can make out, the origin of the name of this hill is not certain, but it provides an impressive viewpoint over the city of Edinburgh, being just a short walk from the city centre.  It is part of the remains of an extinct volcano.  We enjoyed our walk up it this afternoon in the increasingly sunny weather before catching our train back home.
