The importance of lens choice...

The text came up on my social media feed... "The Red Arrows are currently taking off from Exeter and should be flying past the village in a couple of minutes!" 

Thinking to myself it might take me a bit longer, especially on the mash-up that is the M5, I grabbed my longest lens. Schoolboy error. I forgot these flyers are low level lovers.

The time from hearing the roar to seeing them to them being gone over the horizon was about five seconds. Too late! I realised it was impossible to retract the lens in time to get a focus lock....

Hey ho. There were eight, in two flights of four. They all look pretty similar Use your imagination!!! ;-)
