Cassis

The sun was shining this morning so we decided to take a trip to Cassis, a beach about 40 minutes away from Elsa's house, where we were meeting Elsa's mum. When we arrived, we parked at the top of a hill and as the beach came into sight, I couldn't have been much happier. It was March 2nd, it was 22.5 degrees and we were having a picnic on the beach. Now this was the life. The picnic contained roasted vegetable sandwiches, olives, babybels, pringles (sour cream & chive!), chocolates and biscuits and we sat on the rocks enjoying it. After lunch we walked by the beach and afterwards walked to the nearby Calanques (Ludo & I walked whilst the other took the car!). The Calanques are little bays with ports and lots of boats, blue sea and blue sky. Not a cloud in sight. After a good hour walk, we decided that icecream was necessary but as we couldn't find anywhere to park we headed to the supermarket to buy icecream to eat at home. Back at the house we made dinner, ate semolina pudding, icecream and watched the film Bliss which was a little bit bizarre and predictable but actually quite enjoyable.

The photo is Elsa looking out to sea. I just love her poise and the way she always holds herself like a dancer, even when no one's looking!
