Glowing In The Garden

I refer to our wonderful copper beech rather than my suntan.

We spent a very busy day "gardening". My hedge trimmer used as a strimmer is working well. Of course it is electrically powered and the biggest task is moving the cables around.

We had lunch in the garden with some vino. Pat made sure that I would not be using any power tools after lunch.

After lunch, we resurrected the Boxster from its slumbers. Something of a victim from Covid restrictions it has not received very much attention. It has been attached to a trickle charger all of these months and everything is working.

Of course, a good valet is required and we started on that.

In the evening we watched the Formula 1 Grand Prix. I have no personal investment in who wins. However, we were both rather shocked at the high speed crashes. Luckily there were no injuries but having a tyre deflate suddenly at 220 m.p.h. leaves the most skilled driver as very much a passenger.

The finger of blame was immediately pointed at the tyre manufacturer. However, a few minutes reflection showed that that was unlikely. The tyres which failed were the least "loaded".

It now appears that the tyres had been cut by debris left on the track after previous crashes.

I am beginning to wonder if Formula 1 racing on city street circuits is no longer viable. Meely mouthed me! It is no longer viable.
