As I got off the bus in Deerness in a hailstorm, the bus-driver said that I hadn't picked a very good day for a walk, but after ten minutes the sun came out and it shone the whole way.
I walked along the Halley road to the shore of Deer Sound then west past Iron Hellia and the old herring-curing station at Mirkady where I stopped for coffee then along past Hurnip's Point and Eve's Loch before getting back to the road and flagging down the bus. More shots here.
