View of the South Downs

I had a busy morning changing bed linen, doing laundry, packing and also walked Xena. I also quickly popped in at Waitrose to get a few things. Gavin worked from home today and then at about 3.30pm we left home to drive to Goodwood in West Sussex where we are staying for two nights. It's only just over an hour from home but we thought it would be a lovely change of scenery and it is a very dog friendly hotel. On the way there we stopped on Duncton Hill to get this view over the south downs.

The room had doggie bowls, dog treats and even a dog bed in our room - not that we needed any of that as we have brought our own, but it was a lovely gesture. Unfortunately we did not realise that this weekend it is the Festival of Speed so we cannot walk around the grounds of Goodwood House as planned - so walks around the property are rather limited this weekend which is a bit annoying.

Instead we did a short walk up a track that really led nowhere. We got our walking shoes from our car, and after the very short walk of about 30 minutes we returned to the car to put the walking shoes back in the car and were very upset to find that some utter ****head had smashed into the back of our (rather new) car and driven off with no note. I asked the hotel to check if any of it was covered by their outside security cameras but I am not hopeful as there do not appear to be any cameras in that part of the car park. It has upset us and started our weekend off in a bad way!

Anyway, onwards and upwards and hopefully tomorrow will be a better day. We are now going for a pre dinner drink and will try to forget that there are such inconsiderate people in the world.
