Blank Spaces

Although I’ve only been back at work a few weeks, I’ve got a week off coming up.

Due to upcoming staff holidays, it’s worked out well and means that I get the last week of June, July and August off.

We’ve already got our Scotland road trip planned for August, so it’s been my task tonight to see if I can plan something for a few days at the end of June.

We bought the pin map precisely for this purpose; to see where we’ve been and where’s left to go. We also have a world map with the same system.

It looks a bit bare around Norfolk, (not so much around Lancashire, you can tell where we live!!), so we are thinking of stopping off in Colchester to visit friends (who are expecting their first baby in September), before driving up the coast via Ipswich, Lowestoft, Great Yarmouth and Kings Lynn.

Availability permitting, our final stop as we head north to home will be Sleaford, to visit a couple we met on a cruise a few years ago. They’ve kept in touch and even left us a card at the wedding chapel in Vegas (before covid scuppered our plans!).

Even if we don’t manage to catch up with people, it will be nice just to get away and see a bit more of the country. Fingers crossed the sun will continue to shine :-)
