Slump

A slightly floppy loaf ... not easy baking in this heat. It was very hot and steamy today, easily 30C, so naturally I baked bread in the morning and made gougères in the afternoon. We took these to S and R's for a barbecue this evening, but first things first ... we plunged into their pool for our first swim of the year.

It was a convivial evening among the vaccinated, with the exception of A and C, who have both had Covid recently (C caught it almost as soon as she went back to in-person work). A ended up in hospital with a pulmonary embolism, so it was good to see him looking well. We headed home only just after curfew this time.
