If you can't beat them...

Cudding.

Out on the bike and keeping an eye out for blips.  This typical Cumbrian pastoral scene appealed so I took a few shots.  I would like to say the cattle were using the shade of the tree while chewing the cud.  Not so, while it was warm there was no sun through the overcast sky.

Between the cattle and the tree is the River Petteril, technically I suppose the north Petterril.  It starts about a mile up the road just about where the Keswick to Penrith Railway used to run.  Originally the railway was Cockermouth to Penrith.
