Clematis

I've started filling in the holiday pics, the good weather has given some good ones, but it'll take me  while to get them all sorted.
Today was post-holiday jobs, washing, admin, shopping, gardening etc. We also had a chat with the neighbours as a blockage of a shared drain was discovered, but (I hope) has now been sorted. I had to clear up the bean-bed where the fox had been (see yesterday). There was soil and weed prevention wool & paper everywhere, plus a shredded polystyrene box lid (the boxes are good for growing courgettes and the lids give extra insulation). A few beans had survived but I sowed more and then watered them. It should still be early enough for a crop if the weather stays okay but they'll be a month behind.
Near where we stayed is a farm butcher who does heritage meats from the Herdwicks and Belted Galloways he uses for conservation grazing. We had lamb steaks at Mum's and treated ourselves to rump steaks which we had this evening, Both were delicious.
The clematis on the trellis is in full flower
