Trees, trees, trees.

Our walk today was from Loch Morlich passing An Lochan Uaine and onto the Ryvoan Pass then return circling through the Glenmore Forest Park a gorgeous Caledonian Forest.

At the start we followed a very natural small river winding down towards Loch Morlich, we were going up. There was a female red breasted merganser paddling downstream. As we climbed up we were walking through a fantastic pine forest with many truly beautiful aged Scot's pines clinging to the slopes. We got to An Lochan Uaine, also named the green loch which is an emerald green colour as you can see in the main photo. This was our picnic spot.

Carrying on we left the tree line and entered tundra like moorland passing a bothy and two small ponds, there were meadow pipits fluttering about and another merganser. Here we turned around and took the same path for a distance then turned off and took a journey up the hillside into the trees and then back down to the starting point. It was a fantastic walk.

Then a drive up Cairngorm to see the views before returning home for dinner and relaxation.
