Stuff and Nonsense

Corn Bunting #71

Had a busy morning doing some baking and doing one last tidy/weed/deadhead of the garden before we go away. I suspect it will look quite different when we get back in 10 days time.

Washed the car this afternoon and did some laundry and then after dinner we headed back to Moss Lane to see if there were any hares around. The crops are that much higher now so it's a bit more difficult to spot them, but we did see a couple of hares in our field, but again, very far away. Even further away in the next field were another couple of hares, this time having a boxing match, which was quite exciting to see, even through binoculars. A first for us.
We sat at the end of the lane and this little corn bunting sat happily in the scrub and let me take a few shots before flying off and becomes todays star of my journal. Corn buntings are not so common anymore and are on the Red List so I was very happy to see one - only the second one this year.
