Common Spotted-orchid

Back surveying near Cambridge today - hedges, elm-rich woodlands and a grass verge full of Rough Hawk's-beard, with a scatter of Bee Orchids and Common Spotted-Orchids. Driving home, the embankments of the A428 were bright yellow and white with a mix of Rough Hawk's-beard and Ox-eye Daisy.

And then time for a late afternoon rest in the garden surrounded by more damselflies than I've ever seen before - a mix of Large Red and Common Blue. And all around the squawking of baby birds - Great Tits, Blue Tits and Goldfinches being the most obvious.
