The Haywain

So far, so good with our trip.

We met up with Dave last night; he used to live near Mr A when they were teens, so they’ve known each other a long time!

Dave had planned to take us for a pizza, but when we arrived, they were fully booked. This actually worked out well as we ended up finding a Nepalese restaurant and the food was amazing.

Today’s plan was to visit Flatford Mill, the place depicted in the John Constable painting ‘The Haywain’.

Mr A’s grandma had a copy of the painting over her fireplace, so he was keen to see the actual place.
Although the weather was grey, the temperature wasn’t bad and it was dry, so not all bad.

It was a lovely place, with some stunning views and gardens. I’ve been after some sea holly for a while and they had a little shop selling cuttings, so we got 2 pots for good measure, which will serve as a nice souvenir in our garden :-)
