Together

Our last book group meeting of the year and we managed to do it in person, in D's lovely garden. Not all of us could make it, but those that did had a lovely evening with a glass or two of rosé and a sharing of food. The day had started with absolutely torrential rain, thunder and lightning, causing a sinking of hearts, but as you can see the weather in the evening was perfect. Not a breath of wind.

We talked (some of the time) about my choice, How Much of These Hills is Gold. Safe to say not all of us were enthused by it, especially the person who gave up reading because she couldn't stand the decomposing corpse being dragged around. And that's it for this year. We unanimously agreed on Song of Solomon and The Age of Innocence being our favourite reads this year. And that we were glad we'd been able to carry on via Zoom.
