Life's Little Moments

Making Odes

I went straight from radiation to the lake this morning.  The day was overcast and humid, but on the lake all felt right with my world.  I ended up spending nearly two hours paddling and floating in the lily pads, being soothed by nature.  As is often the case, I went out with one thing in mind (a frog) and came away with something completely different - a female Blue Dasher ovipositing.  Unlike some species of odes, blue dasher females are not escorted by a male so she was just out there doing her thing.

I also saw numerous bluet pairs engaged in similar business, but since I just blipped them last Tuesday, I had to go with this today.  See Extra for a flight shot.

Tomorrow will be my final radiation treatment.  I can't even articulate how that feels.  I'm ready to get on with life.

Be well.  Eat something chocolate.  And join me tomorrow for a celebratory toast - whatever you like, whenever you like!
