SILLY SATURDAY - JUNGLE GAMES

Hello Lovely Blippers,

Most of you know that Mr. HCB has decided to leave the grass in their garden so that it grows tall so that the pollinators have the grass and wild flowers to land on - well, we decided that we would go out there and perhaps have a game of Hide and Seek together.

It was funny because Hoggy was quite happy in the long grass because he said he loved to wander in the jungle, but Tiny and Penny Penguin were complaining that the grass tickled their noses and we knew that because we could hear them sneezing all the time.

Snowy decided that she would pick some buttercups and kept coming up to all of us and putting a buttercup under our chin to see if we liked butter - what a silly thing to do!

Meanwhile, although our lovely cousin, Paddington Picasso is still with us - but only for a few more days - he was being rather grouchy today.  He said that he didn’t want to stand in the long grass because it might be wet and as he only had his very best and posh clothes with him, they might get mucky.  He obviously isn’t a jungle bear!  After looking around, we found a container that he could stand in and he appeared to be happy but said he would just look and not join in the game.  Such a shame!
However, he did say he might like to paint a picture of the grass and the wildflowers before he goes home.

I was quite happy to be in the long grass and I’m sure that Admirer would love to see us all playing together.  Because Mr. HCB has mowed a pathway all round the grass, it looks really good and from early in the morning until late in the evening, we can hear the bees and other insects buzzing around and having a great time.  Not only is there long grass, but also daisies, buttercups, clover and even some little pink flowers, so Mr. HCB has done a wonderful job by leaving it.  We think the grass makes a good hiding place, because it sways in the breeze and hides us well.

Hope you are all having a good weekend - the sun is trying to come out, and Mrs. HCB says she will be going for a walk later so Mr. HCB says he will join her, which she will enjoy.

Take care and be kind to one another.

With love from

JH Ted, Tiny, Snowy, Penny Penguin, Hoggy and Paddington Picasso xxxxxx

P.S.  We know this isn’t an abstract, but if you wanted to sponsor Mrs. HCB in her 100 Abstracts Challenge, we know she and the Mamie Martin Fund would be delighted.  She only has 29 to go before she reaches her 100, and we are saving some of our pocket money to sponsor her.
