Left a very hazy Oban at 10am today, low cloud, rather miserable, en route to the good old Isle of Mull - again - but with Mrs M too this time. The crossing was very calm and the weather got better as we drove the 32 miles south to Bunessan and it turned into a beautiful day.

After unpacking we walked back down to the village, passing these two ladies sitting on the village bench with a great view of an old boat engine!

We lunched in the peace of the community vegetable garden and afterwards drove out to Kintraw at the NW end of the Ross of Mull, to visit the farm shop. They have a wonderful garden - see extra - where they grow what they sell in the shop and have some amazing flower meadows where we saw hundreds of orchids, among them fragrant and greater butterfly.

A great first day!
