the eternal radiance

Next in the 'ongoing Scottish-poetry theme' - and it's a short verse from Hugh MacDiarmid, as taken from the pictured 1984 volume of his collected letters ...

... the collections' editor, Alan Bold, concludes his introduction to the book quoting these words from MacDiarmid:

The eternal radiance

I know that in the final artistic
- The highest human - vision
There is neither good nor evil,
Better nor worse,
But only the harmony
Of that which is,
The pure phenomenon
Abiding in the eternal radiance.
