The Bonnie Prince

Homeward bound today. Of course, quite a lot of travelling, but it was well broken up, by the ferry to Mallaig (see extra for statutory 'leaving on a ferry photo'), by a stop at the overpriced carpark for the Harry Potter viaduct and the Glenfinnan monument (where we evaded paying the car park charge because we left Mr A in the car to fend off any enquiries, although there weren't any...), by a trip over the Corran ferry after we chose the trip down the other side of Loch Linnhe to avoid Fort William, and finally by lunch at the Loch Leven Seafood restaurant, especially for L to enjoy some lobster (which he did).

Before we got to the car park at Glenfinnan - the new enlarged one - we ended up sitting in a queue for some roadworks for about 20 minutes. As we were sitting there, we could hear the Harry Potter express go past, with the steam engine puffing. What a shame we didn't manage actually to see it.

Once home, there were the usual chores such as laundry, and rushing out to get a few essentials from the supermarket. My balcony plants are fine. The lilies are just about to bloom. I have a busy day tomorrow and probably won't leave the house, but I won't be short of things to blip.

What a great break! We allowed ourselves a little luxury in the form of the hotel, and ate extremely well each day. And we have been incredibly lucky with the weather (especially since we were already lucky with our earlier break on Mull and at Loch Melfort).

I've had very little time for checking blips and commenting (or responding to comments) since I've been away. I'll try and catch up, although realistically that won't be until the weekend.
