Shower Teaser

Top right hand corner of the finished, yes, you heard me, the finished tiled, elegant shower. Alas, for those few of you hoping for the live try out in blip format, the grout sealer is not yet dry. Showers on Saturday afternoon... come on over.
Although Gracie Twinkle-toe walked into the full size frame to see if she was getting her water bowl back, she walked out in disgust. Those full blips did not turn out well. The lighting was way too yellow and dark when taken at night. So, I shall wait for the daylight to appear and try again.
There are a few of these fancy tiles sprinkled around on the walls. I expect there will be several shower room blips in the future now that it has become the most expensive, newest room in the house.
And to answer your next question, NO!
They are not yet done with the job. Wooden baseboards have to be made and stained along with the sliding wooden door. All or most of the painting is done. There was another one of those brief Elf confusions this afternoon as Elf #2 painted the TV room wall a continuation of the Beeswax colour that connects it to the hallway and bedroom.
Hard to imagine probably, but now that the doors have all been removed and are living new lives as nice worktable tops in the basement, and the doorways were widened to the legal "very wide width" the hallway seems to run from the back bedroom wall across the entire length of the middle of the house and to the back TV room wall. (Drapes/Curtains will happen.) So I heard grumpy #2 trying to squeeze out the last few drops of Beeswax -- a lovely, rich golden colour-- onto the 8 foot wall he'd already primed. He's been complaining since he arrived (late) this morning. So I thought he was just having the tired Friday blues. Yet when he said he thought we'd have to buy more Beeswax I took a look at his project. Lo and behold! "Oh, no, Elf. That wall is supposed to be PINK."
Grrr... We have plenty of paint and he merely had to paint over what he'd already done in Beeswax. It looks lovely.
There were rowdy and worried times during the day... I shall not get into their complicated soap opera lives. Only I will say that Elf #1 is breaking up with his live-in girlfriend/babysitter. Apparently she took his (not theirs) oldest daughter who may be 12 to the beauty salon to get her long brown hair bleached blonde. There was a loss of power during the process and only half the hair got bleached. I understand it was the middle half. This cost Dad $330. The girl is going to be in a beauty pageant. Seems the entire "surprise" was not cleared with Dad in advance. Not sure what's happening with the hair, but the long term girl friend/babysitter may be is moving out...
Drama among the working elves. No news yet on the birth of daughter #4 belonging to Elf#2 and his second live-in girl friend. She's getting induced it seems. After she has the baby Elf#2 has told here he wants her to leave because they do not get along! He wants to keep the baby. Yikes!
Well, life in the Catskills mountains can compete with the Ozarks any day.
We're thinking the saga comes to an end on Tuesday... except I have a little trade worked out with Elf #2. For making his daughters' bedroom curtains and giving him my spare hard maple lazy susan that goes in a corner kitchen cupboard, he will make three drawers for under the cooktop in my kitchen. He will do the work at his little shop at his home. I will be getting my garage back when they move their power tools out.
I panteth...
