Salad Servers!

It’s time to go home, but just to extend the holiday a little longer, we stop twice enroute. Firstly at Holker Hall, an RHS partner garden - which way exceeds our expectations, prolifically planted, the flowers are at their height, and the trees are magnificent. Of particular note is the Holker Great Lime, about 500 years old and recognised by The Tree Council as one of 50 Great British Trees. It’s fluted trunk has a girth of 25 feet. It’s in the extra - a montage of Holker - on the bottom right.
Then we make our return to RSPB Leighton Moss for another attempt at photographing the spoonbills- they are a long way away and the light is problematic - so there’s plenty of room for improvement- but, nevertheless- here they are - the bills really do look like salad servers!
