Azalea Bloom

After a week of blipping people, time to give my new azalea plant some attention. It was bought on impulse from our local florist at Bearsden Cross (on Wednesday when I photographed our threatened primary school). It's a small plant but covered with gorgeous variegated pink blooms - and for a fiver who could resist buying one on seeing them en masse outside the shop.
There's a good Gardeners' World video about their care if you have azaleas yourself.

The light was flat today with rain threatening, so I placed the plant on the window ledge in the conservatory, homed in on one bloom and angled the shot to include the out-of-focus patio tiles at the top. In Photoshop I applied a very light dry brush filter to give a hint of a painterly effect without altering the exquisite delicate patterning on the bloom.
