Project 365 day 184: Muted

It was a misty morning and has been a heavily overcast day of muted colours, moist and dull with just a little evening sun. The garden seems to be full of white flowers of many kinds, cultivated, wild and edible. The philadelphus and spiraea are lushly scented and scattering petals, cow parsley, daisies and yarrow are in bloom. The elderflowers need picking for more cordial, beans and potatoes are flowering, and blackberry and strawberry flowers are promising fruit soon - I picked the first strawberries yesterday. A few sheep are back in the field on one side, and the one at the other side was mowed on Thursday and the hay baled and wrapped yesterday, the second crop this year. Even the cats are colour co-ordinated.

I've been quite muted too, pottering gently, feeling a lot better but lacking energy and stamina. Tomorrow, I hope to pick redcurrants and attack the whitefly on the tomatoes.
