When You Cannot Get to Florida, Let it Come to You

A Roseate Spoonbill has decided to call Huntley Meadows (just south of Washington, DC) its home.  I'm not sure why it flew this far north as their home is supposed to be in the southern part of the United States.

There are egrets, blue heron, and green heron but no other spoonbills.  The egrets and the spoonbill are constantly quarreling with one another which makes for some great photo opportunities.

For those in the US,  have a wonderful and safe Independence Day and make sure you keep your pets in a quiet place!
