It's Raining Again
I know some of you love the sun, but I'm from Scotland where it shines on some days but never the ones when I was on holiday. I'm really enjoying waking up to thunderstorms and rain and temperatures where it's around the average temperature for Edinburgh.
It's such a change from waking up and it's 29°C at 6 in the morning. Or "monring" as I keep typing.
We have a meeting tomorrow morning at 9. It's called IT-Assessment. It's been carried out by a well-known consultancy company. Do you know what they are going to recommend? <Every Consultancy Company does this and it's still a surprise to managers> - We can do more with fewer people.
A colleague mentioned something about this in a team meeting today. He's just completed 25 years with the company. He said that every year or 2 a "new way of working, to increase productivity, faster delivery and and and. And we would reach The new El Dorado". He's still doing the job he started 25 years ago.
As it is with management, they have to change things - call it another name, rebrand, you have to be seen to be changing.
I had a boss when I worked in a Delicatessen and one of his favourite sayings was "Don't just do something, stand there". Some of you will get that.
