Viksjö swimming spot

Today we decided to take a holiday from gardening. We packed some food into the camper van and drove out to this swimming spot, a lake near the village of Viksjö. Then we swam, lay around, read, took photos , and cloud gazed. Once we'd had enough of that we got back into the van and ate a gorgeous picnic, sitting at our table and admiring the view. Then back to town for a little food shopping and home again.
What a great day.
This swimming place has just been renovated. A company building nearly 200 wind turbines in the nearby hills needed to widen the road, so the large loads could get around the curve. After negotiations a deal was struck where the company widened the road as they needed, and also built 15 parking places, a picnic area, a 50m path down to the "beach", simple changing rooms and a toilet. That seems a win-win situation.
We passed two other swimming places as we headed further and further out into the hills and they were both really crowded, but this one was fairly empty, and later we were entirely alone there.
Summer at its best!
