The Adventure ...

… continues.

The weather was gorgeous today so our plans to visit Snow Canyon State Park fell into place rather nicely. And contrary to its name it was not cold!   It’s just up the road from Sheryl’s so it took us no time at all to get there.  As we were pulling in Sheryl said to watch for desert tortoises and there one was … picture is bottom left of collage in Extra Photos.  Most of the pictures in the collage were taken at Snow Canyon … with the exception of the upper right picture.  That’s a road runner that was on the roof … we saw him later once we got back to the house.

Snow Canyon was exceptionally beautiful and we had fun scaling over all the rock formations.  We even came across a rock cairn which prompted us to make our own … middle picture.  There are a couple of slot canyons at this park and we walked into one of them … Jenny’s slot canyon.  As you might imagine the lighting was terrible in there for photography but I snapped a portrait of Sheryl and Richard in there. Which proves that I was there as well!!

On the way home Sheryl took us to a beautiful outdoor entertainment venue called Tuacahn Center for the Arts. Once we returned home we were there for the night.  Sheryl made a delicious supper complete with strawberry rhubarb crumble for dessert.

Then it was time for a soak in their hot tub to finish the day right.  We said our goodnights and R and I retired to the beautiful casita in which we are staying.  What could be more perfect!?!

I know what!  As we were enjoying the views in the backyard the hummingbirds were flying about.  My main picture is of a black-chinned hummingbird.  Definitely a first for me!  As was the road runner.

As much as we would have loved to stay with Sheryl, T and Bunker a little longer we need to return to Las Vegas tomorrow.
