Life in Sunny Dubai

(11/7/21)

We've had a non-stop day! Tearfund prayer meeting on Zoom at 11 am followed straight away by the funeral of our life group member who died on Saturday. That was on YouTube and I have to say, it was a wonderful send-off to a very special and unique man.

We then had a quick lunch before I tried to tackle some more captioning.

We had organised to meet up with Margaret and Jeff to take them to our favourite restaurant. They did the big thing of driving up from the capital, a commendable feat as it is the first time Jeff has driven on the other side of the road (and car)! We had a super time enjoying the delights of Chicken Tikka Inn.

Despite all they had already done in the day, they agreed for us to take them to the Last Exit to show them a bit of weekend nightlife. It was very quiet, so good in a way, but no fancy motorcycles anywhere to be seen! Instead, we encountered this group of cyclists who start from Rigga Street and ride all over Dubai on their fold-up bikes. We chatted with them and they were thrilled to pose for me. Home late and tired. I got to drive a Toyota Prado today!

PS. In my haste to get this posted, I forgot to mention our early start, despite a very late night (we got home around 1:45 am) and T@3, which was lovely, as always! :))
