A sign of a pub!

Concluding the series on Twyford pubs. In this case a closed pub, it is now Tesco, though the building is the same. The only thing that hints at its former life is the pavement sign in front of the store, which used to advertise the name of the pub.

I could not remember what it was called but I was told by another Blipper that it was the Acorn. The same source told me the name is a nod the a former pub The Royal Oak now demolished, which used to stand on this site.

I only went to the Acorn once, we were not impressed. It did not compare favourably with the other three pubs in the village. Two of which were closer to my apartment in any case.
