Compton Verney

We decided to drive out to Compton Verney for a walk and coffee this afternoon.   It's been a lovely day weather-wise so it would be nice to see the wildflower meadow again.  As per last time the car park was unusually full, though it couldn't have been another painting TV programme,  and it wasn't.  The grass meadow and lake by the bridge were a hustle and bustle of people setting up wires, lights and speakers.  Apparently  the event Caelum et Terram is happening this weekend.  A high wire had been set up that crossed the river, we thought zip-wire, but in fact it is a high-wire for performers to wow the crowd with daring feats...I only found out what it was when I looked it up on CV's Web site, under Events.  Acrobats, fireworks, the lot, after nightfall!  See extra.

Once we moved away from the bridge the place quietened down and we had a nice, if hot, walk round the meadow and a coffee at the Coffee Pod kiosk in the grounds.

Not only were the events people busy, the bees and butterflies were out in force too in the meadow.  Here's a duo, a tricky shot as there was a bit of a breeze wafting the stems about, but a submission for this week's WildFlower Week hosted by Miranda1008.
