I Regret to Announce...

....the Departure of My Tapestry Yarn.

It is like losing old friends...very sad...They have been in the family since I was a young adult. They are orphans - left overs from my early tapestry-making efforts. Alas, I moved on. I found a more glamorous brand of tapestry yarn, and never went back. So, off to the Thrift Store they go in search of a more appreciative owner; they deserve that....

I shall not mention the above brand lest it is considered an advertisement, not allowed on Blipfoto. I will say, though, without mentioning its name, that I love its more brilliant colours as well as its three-strands that allowed me to separate them according to the canvas gauge and to mix different colours into one to blend or add texture to backgrounds.

Over the years, I have amassed a huge amount of that yarn too and have been using it exclusively whenever I return to working on tapestries. Tapestry work is one of my hobbies that comes and goes. During the pandemic, I  resurrected a partly finished pillow top,  hoping to keep up my interest long enough this time to finish it!  I would certainly have enough time on my hands. I consider it the Perfect Pandemic Project..it has much-needed bright and cheerful colours...does not need hand-sanitizer, can be done in isolation in your own home, while listening to the latest COVID reports and you don't need a mask. And I will end up with another pillow.

I already have a LOT of tapestry pillows, but then, one can never have enough pillows, right? ... and tapestry ones are especially lovely. Some of my favourites are in the extras.
