Quod oculus meus videt

First Cauliflower

Another day meeting up with family to celebrate joint birthdays.  We walked about 3 miles to a pub for lunch, thankfully in cloudy conditions so the heat didn't make it too uncomfortable.

A couple of hours at the pub and by the time we started to walk back the temperature had increased and sun had come out.  We made liberal use of the shade afforded by the trees on Cannock Chase on the way home, buoyed by a good meal and a couple of pints.

Then a relaxing late afternoon in the garden, including cream teas with scones, liberally spread with Cornish clotted cream.  I didn't take many photographs, save for this one of the first cauliflower head forming in the raised vegetable beds of my cousin's new home.
