Friday: Sun Setting Behind the Scaffolding

Our builders and scaffolders arrived at 9am as promised.
We had a coffee whilst they unloaded pipes and boards, the replacement windows arrived same time and are now in the garage.
MrD went off for a long day of deliveries and I pottered around whilst part of the scaffolding was put together.
Sam and Luke were persuaded to have a cuppa, I used loose tea and forgot how strong it was - they said is was proper “builders’ tea”!
Very hot and sunny by midday, much too hot for gardening but perfect for drying out compost I’d made last summer.
Used the last of commercial compost to “earth up” the potatoes I planted 2 weeks ago, grass mowings as final layer on top.
About a dozen house martins and swallows swooping around our neighbourhood this evening, joyful twittering!
