Reconciliation

Yet more of the same; normal service will be restored soon!

Reconciliation is the name of the statue and is a central part of the vision of the current Coventry Cathedral; pictured in the background. The statue stands in the old cathedral, which was sited near to factories, was bombed in WWII.

Reconciliation: what we do here (board extract)
We see reconciliation as a journey, one that is not simple or straightforward, one that is bumpy and rocky, and requires truth, forgiveness, justice and peace. We work to:
*Heal the wounds of history,
*Learn to live with difference and celebrate diversity, and
*Build a culture of peace

We witnessed a meeting of the Cross of Nails which is one of the reconciliation networks that contributes to this. They sat in a large circle of chairs right in the middle of the cathedral.

The extra shows a bell inside the new building. It has Peace inscribed in English on the far side and in German on near side.
