Weeping Willow

A long, hot day of survey at Tetney Blow Wells NR near Grimsby, recording quadrats in areas of tall fen vegetation where no cooling breezes could penetrate. The areas of carr woodland gave some respite, and I would have liked to linger longer under this graceful weeping willow instead of battling through areas of reed that were taller than me!

Still, another site ticked off the list - and another long journey up through the Lincolnshire Wolds completed. This year seems to have involved a lot of driving! I don't want to wish away the summer, but I'm looking forward to September, when things should be a little less pressured, and it hopefully won't be quite so hot!
