The Japanese Garden

at Cowden near Dollar. Today I took 100 photos of this garden which we visited for the first time today,

Cowden Garden

The garden dates from 1908, and the history is given on the website. By 2013 the garden had suffered badly and plans were put in place to begin the significant task of restoration.

The garden was designed by a Japanese woman called Taki Handa for a Scottish woman called Ella Christie. It is unique in many ways.

We enjoyed our visit despite the 29C temperature under the blazing midday sun.

Thereafter we had a late lunch at our friend HJB’s home which we designed in 1990. Nothing has changed in the house, which Jurgen continues to fill with more collectibles.

Pat prepared the lunch in a cataplana; a one dish meal.

We drove him in the evening sun, by way of Dundee to see Northeast Fife shrouded in fog and a temperature of 16C.
