Small Tortoiseshell

In German, this is a "Kleiner Fuchs" (little fox), named for its fox-red wings.
Its larvae (and also those of the peacock butterfly) eat nothing but stinging nettles, so I allow a few nettles to grow, in a corner behind the raspberry bushes.

It was another long day. Once again I had neither time nor energy to look for a blip beyond the back garden, in my short evening break between work and chores.
