St James's Church, Bawsey

Another one ticked off in my book of Wild Ruins! There used to be a thriving village around this church but a landlord kicked out the residents to turn the land over for more profitable sheep farming in the 16th century! Quite a lot of the church remains and it stands out well over the surrounding countryside.

We also visited Castle Rising (extra), Castle Priory and Castle Acre so a very ruinous day. The weather stayed reasonable throughout. An evening ahead of sitting round the firepit with a drink or two!
