Diary of an Edinburgher

I think the expected rain came during the night, and it was still a bit wet in the morning, so JR took the bus along to the gym, for only the second time in about two years. But it had warmed, and dried, up by the time Beatrice came to take Archie out. But he had gone into every single puddle he could find, so it was a bath for him when Beatrice went home.

Zoe popped in for a visit - she had brought her mother to a new hairdresser, which is nearby. She was very pleased with the pressie I found for Leo.

More Olympics. Sadly no women’s 100 cricket because Lord’s was waterlogged, though it looks as though they have salvaged enough to play the men’s game this evening. Watched the Sevens rugby - well done Fiji! And NZ - silver medals. Also watched badminton, gymnastics, volleyball and many more. I’m really looking forward to the athletics, though this evening JR had a bit of relief from sport, and we watched the Scottish Home of the Year.

Later on a lovely sunny warm evening, I took Archie round to the park. Looks like we missed the worst of the rain, though the garden needs it.

Btw, that cracked window, which has been like that for many months, now has a date to be fixed. Yay!

PS That’s my birthday jug and birthday flowers.
