Maggie visits

Caught the morning pool game in the Women’s Rugby Sevens - GBR v NZ. Excellent game! The Kiwis won, after being three converted tries behind. They had couple of really fast runners - they could be in the Olympic sprints.

I then took Archie out for a walk through the graveyard to search yet again for Tom, the slave, but didn’t find it. I will find it next time, as Christine sent me a map with ‘x marks the spot’ on it.

JR got lunch ready. Jan came over with wee Maggie. She is coming to look after Archie when we go on our next wee jaunt, so she needed to check out the lie of the land. Maggie LOVES Archie’s toys, and gets them all out. And she managed to remove two of the squeaky parts in two toys.

We had a most delicious lunch! Crispy skinned salmon fillets, with pea purée, Jersey Royals and a mixed herb salad. It was so yummy, I forgot to take a photo before I started eating. Then we had baked peaches with an amaretti crumb and crême fraiche. Accompanied by a crisp Italian rosé. Epic!

I’ve been watching more ‘Hundred’ cricket. It’s on every day, with the women having their game first, followed by the men’s match. In my youth, girls didn’t have such a choice of sports. When JR gets toooo fed up with cricket, we have a bit of light relief watching the true story of a murder in Cork - Sophie (on Netflix).
