Diary of an Edinburgher

Barbecue!

Up and out, both cycling down the road to whizz around on the Links on the Juicy bikes. JR had a go with the motor for the first time, and loved it, still on the lowest gear though.

Back in time to find our window cleaner visiting at last. He sawed down a pesky wee dead tree I’ve been meaning to get rid of for ages.

Then I took Archie out for a walk while JR did housework stuff and loaded up the boot with stuff for the charity shop. So we still can’t try the bikes in the boot...

I popped in to a wee bike shop and had a chat about bicycle locks. He was a very nice chap and gave me a good idea about securing the bikes in the shed. Also got a big Edinburgh map showing all the cycle paths.

Then we got ready for the bbq. The Portuguese family (with the three wee girls) are (is?) going back to Lisbon at the weekend, so all the neighbours came down and we had a super time (Extras). We had two barbecues on the go We were MEANT to have two barbecues on the go, but my barbecue, despite having a brand new gas canister, refused to work. Just as well our neighbours are professional barbecue-ers, and Chris took over and did the whole thing. Masses of food! Even humungous toasted marshmallows at the end.

Archie was very good, he was constantly, er, pestered by the four girls, Archie sit! Archie stand! Archie sit up! Archie wait! Archie catch! Archie walk through the hoop! He’s exhausted now.

A grand day altogether.
