Hill Fort

This is Pilsdon Pen, a hill fort from before the Roman invasion.  It appears that it fell to the Romans in 43AD, which must have been a bit traumatic for the locals, particularly after all their work in fortifying the place.

But, as always, it was quite something to stand there and consider the human history that was still in evidence in all the lumps and bumps in the ground.

And it looked beautiful, although I've just noticed a bit of banding in the panorama (chiz, chiz, as Molesworth might have said).
