I've got competition.

It was only last week that I noticed how the hazelnuts were aplenty this year. This week clusters of nuts are already on the ground having been nibbled by squirrels. Hopefully some will ripen, and I'll harvest them.

I spent a couple of hours on the plot feeding & watering, also picking. Fine green beans, runners, plus a few peas, courgette, carrots, turnips, lifted 3 more potatoes, & finished off with a second pick of blueberries. Time to walk Indie, a lovely wander across the heath, the heather giving a real splash of colour, the grasses already turning, so many beautiful colours. The cattle were easily spotted so gave them space, although there has never been a problem sharing the heath with them. The hazelnuts were along the dirt track towards Acorn field. The wild flowers along the grass verges looking beautiful. Not bombed just naturally occurring, so varied. I keep thinking it would interesting to photograph & record this one section.
Mum came back to Chudleigh for some Olympics, & horseracing. A good afternoons viewing.
