#11 ILLUMINATION

The word of the day for the Dictionary Project is -

illumination
noun -
1. usable light: the amount or strength of light available for a purpose.
2. enlightenment: intellectual or spiritual enlightenment.
3. printing decoration on page: a colored letter, design,
or illustration decorating a manuscript or page.

I think that all three definitions will apply to this photograph.
The candle for illumination of the page and the words on it.
What the words on the page do for my spiritual illumination.
The decoration on the page is called manuscript illumination.
