Canals, woodlands and memorials

A follow up Bus Pass Walk after the recce we did last week.  A lovely part of the canal, and then through a wooded area down to and across the golf course.  Across a river and then through Utley Cemetery - always something different spotted in there - some very ostentatious old memorials.  Back along the cycle route to Stockbridge and then excellent refreshments at The Loft in Bingley - I didn’t need tea after my substantial omelette and salad lunch!  I tried really hard not to do a collage - honestly!  However, being out of extras and not having any I want to recycle just yet I gave in!  Images show the river, the golf course, a colourful tree lined part of the cemetery, and a “tunnel” by the golf course.  Not sure what this is - we wondered if it could be an old ice house, or a maintenance tunnel for the canal, or just an old passageway to get from one side of the canal to the other.  Much of the interior is blocked with rubble now so hard to judge how far it goes.  Always something interesting on our walks.
