Work

There are worse places to do it!

I had the pleasure of a half day cafe shift at Abergynolwyn this afternoon.  Not the busiest but good fun nonetheless.   This hurried effort ended up being the only pic I took today so it'll have to do.

The morning was all admin for Jamie and for Ruth.   Once again the services in Birmingham have gone into a kind of torpor, the agency we most need to talk to is not engaging in the necessary process at all, this on the back of repeated failures in the last few years.  The social worker is on a long period of leave, her boss seems to have gone awol if her out of date out of office message is anything to go by.   The upshot is a serious threat to Ruth's wellbeing as her care agency are unhappy with the resulting reduction in her care hours - they're considering the unpalatable option of pulling out as they can't deliver the level of service needed on the existing budget.   Almost a year on from last year's major crisis and still no movement on the crucial issue of joint health and social care funding.

A more mundane couple of hours at work again tonight before a peaceful walk with Meg just after dark, the weather changing.   Some much needed rain on the way I hope.
