Good Weather for Ducks

Today has been a very lazy, relaxed and chilled out Sunday. I've really enjoyed it. I know I'm often busy but "lazy" is my nature so when I get the chance I make the most of it.

I've read, looked for jobs which did not delight me - why are all job ads written in "Jargon", why do jobs that are based in one location require you to have your own transport/driving license and why can you no longer apply directly to a business rather than through an agency? (All rhetorical questions, no answers expected!)

I do think that general jobs requiring no specialist knowledge or experience have more demanding selection processes than they used to, probably because there are a lot more people applying for each post nowadays, giving employers more choice. It helps to put them through a few sieves to make sure they get the best, most appropriate person. Or at least the one who best knows their way around the system.

There is  local centre that helps people back into work - CV advice, interview techniques etc. I made enquiries about going to their sessions but I'm not eligible as I am not claiming benefits. I could still use the advice though as what I'm currently doing is getting me nowhere!

It has been very rainy and windy today, but we braved the drizzle and had a walk around the Arboretum to find a blip. I like the reflection of this duck.
