A Day In The Life

Day 17

Per the AOG Charter, the 2021 AOG Games have officially come to a close • The AOG flame was extinguished by our special guest, the one and only, Lady Bridget Bumble Bee, or Triple B as she was known by her teammates, an athlete who distinguished herself with a record-setting 6 AOG medals, with 4 of those gold, ten years ago at the AOG 2011 Games. I might add that her opponents called Triple B a Triple Threat! • It’s difficult summing up this year’s AOG; it’s a unique competition that brings elite athletes together from all over the world. At every event we witnessed these competitors perform at their highest level. The victories and personal bests were mixed with defeat and heartache. We’ve seen records broken while, sadly, a few sidelined with injuries. But it’s also been about forming friendships, new ones, and respecting those unlike yourself. Ultimately learning how similar we really are. These are the experiences that are more valuable than winning a medal of any color • It’s been my distinct pleasure to bring you these AOG 2021 Games over these past 17 days. Here’s a shoutout to our infamous AOG President, dbifulco, and to all of you folks for tuning in. Until next year, be kind and take good care of yourselves!
