The Morning After

Although the AOG Closing Ceremony was held yesterday I couldn’t resist bringing you this related breaking news story • Shortly after the Closing Ceremony ended, Team Mining Bee flew directly to The Nasturtium Lounge, a favorite locale for both locals and some of our pollinator athletes. No doubt they were anxious to celebrate their Gold Medal awarded just prior to the Closing Ceremony in the Team Pollen Relay. It was an exciting finish too as only a half a second determined gold from silver • Merle, the youngest member of Team Mining Bee, overindulged at their Nectar Bar. He was found “sleeping” in one of their infamous reclining petal chairs at closing time. To the rescue was Team Captain Andrena! She explained to the Lounge Owner that it was Merle’s first AOG and he had won a gold medal! With the team heading home in the morning, couldn’t Merle stay right where he was and sleep it off? Of course, the Owner exclaimed, in fact, he invited the whole team to stay until their morning flight • What a heartwarming story to end these Summer AOG Games :)
